RENT - 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Rent is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathon Larson, loosely based on Giacomo Puccini’s 1896 Opera La Boheme. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan’s East Village in the thriving days of bohemian alphabet city, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
The musical was first seen in a workshop production at the New York Theatre Workshop in 1993. The show's creator, Jonathan Larson, died suddenly of an aortic dissection, believed to have been caused by undiagnosed Marfan syndrome, the night before the off-Broadway premiere. The musical moved to Broadway's larger Nederlander Theatre on April 29, 1996. On Broadway, Rent gained critical acclaim and won several awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Musical. The Broadway production closed on September 7, 2008, after 12 years, making it one of the longest-running shows on Broadway. The production grossed over $280 million. The success of the show led to several national tours and numerous foreign productions. In 2005, it was adapted into a motion picture featuring most of the original cast members. RENT This will be a complete Adult Production with a live professional band on the Main Stage at The Village Theatre of Canton celebrating the 25th Anniversary of RENT!!!!

LES MISERABLES - SCHOOL EDITION
Les Misérables is the world’s longest running musical — a true modern classic based on Victor Hugo's novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. The multi-award-winning Les Misérables is as groundbreaking today as it was when it first premiered in London in 1985. Les Misérables School Edition features updated orchestrations based on the Tony-nominated 2014 Broadway revival.
In nineteenth century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter. Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables School Edition packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. This author-approved edition has been abridged to a running time of just over two hours while beautifully maintaining the integrity of this musical masterpiece.

OF MICE AND MEN
Of Mice and Men represents an experiment in form, which Steinbeck described as “a kind of playable novel, written in novel form but so scened and set that it can be played as it stands.” A rarity in American letters, it achieved remarkable success as a novel, a Broadway play, and several acclaimed films. Of Mice and Men received the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play in 1937–1938. Since then, its iconic roles have attracted celebrated actors of both stage and screen, including Burgess Meredith, James Earl Jones, John Malkovich, and Gary Sinise.
This classic story of an unlikely pair—George and Lennie, two migrant workers in Depression-era California grasping for their American Dream—continues to be read and revived in performance more than seventy-five years later, attesting to its abiding capacity to profoundly connect with readers, actors, and audiences alike. Tragic yet beautiful, Of Mice and Men is an extremely popular play that has become a staple of American theatre.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW
One fateful night, Brad Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss — a wholesome, well-behaved, utterly normal young couple in love — innocently set out to visit an old professor. Unfortunately for them, this night out is destined to be one they will never forget. A thunderstorm and a flat-tire force them to seek help at the castle of Dr. Frank ’N’ Furter, an alien, transvestite scientist with a manic genius and insatiable libido. Brad, Janet, and Frank’ N’ Furter’s cohorts are swept up into the scientist’s latest experiment. The night’s misadventures will cause Brad and Janet to question everything they’ve known about themselves, each other, love, and lust.
Beyond its cult status, The Rocky Horror Show is also widely said to have been an influence on countercultural and sexual liberation movements that followed on from the 1960s. It was one of the first popular musicals to depict fluid sexuality during a time of division between generations and a lack of sexual difference acceptance.
